It does take a little time to get rid of the initial static and noise, but after using it for a few hours the sound quality seems really good. The best part is the ear buds stay in place so great for working out. :)

It's heavy on the bass but that's all & for [..] bucks U would think they could do more but i guess not....

I bought these new as a returned item for $20 and they are of a high quality. As a $70 model, they are the most expensive earbuds I've ever owned. Their superior quality is evident through my radio jack, but on my iPod their high quality may be to the sound's detriment as they seem to highlight the compressed bit rate of the iPod music. The sound is dull, harsh, flat, very unpleasant. Ironically, this could be the high quality of the Red Rexx actually highlights the compressed iPod sound. All I can say is that in my experience the Red Roxx are ill matched with the iPod though a good match for my radio. For every day iPod use, I prefer my $14 JBuds 2.

These head phones are pretty good, the bass is nice and responsive. I listen to metal and rap so I like my bass responsive for double bass songs and theres more than enough bass for rap. I've only had them for an hour so far so they're still going through burn in, these head phones should be played for at least 6 hours on high before they reach full base and volume. The volume could be a little higher but it really depends on how you like your music, I like my music so loud that my ears explode. So yeah good headphones!

I bought these at a discount some time ago when they were about $50. At the time, I felt like I was stealing them, the sound was so good. As others have said, these things are euphoric once you get past the burn-in phase.
HOWEVER, the cord is absolutely atrocious. It's plastic coated, first off, so it doesn't hang well at all. Secondly, it's incredibly thin and fragile. It didn't take long at all before it kinked at the connector jack, leaving one ear periodically shorting out before it died entirely.
Now, the reason I'm giving these a three star is because I want to reflect that they sound great and I recognize that not everyone's will break as quickly as mine, however it IS a risk and the fact that it seems to be fairly common means I can't simply say I got a bad one and forgive V-MODA for it.
Great phones, lacking in the hardware quality.
